Serve2Sail
We are excited to announce a new program called Serve2Sail.  The program is designed to attract engaged and contributing Members to the RCYC as they volunteer to become full Members.  Each year, participants will volunteer 40 hours to the Sailing department for 4 years (whilst paying annual dues) and at the end of the program, will qualify to pay 10% of the Entrance Fee for their Membership category.  Should you know anyone that may qualify for the Serve2Sail program, we would be delighted to learn more about the candidates. Please contact the Membership department for more information membership@rcyc.ca.
 
Cherry Street Update
Construction on the Cherry Street Bridge continues.  We are monitoring the progress closely and will update accordingly.  In the meantime, please remember to take extra time when travelling to the Launch.

Crew Passes
Just a reminder that in order to receive your Crew Passes by Wednesday, May 1, 2013, please have your 2013 Racing Crew Pass Form returned to quartermaster@rcyc.ca or in person to the Quartermaster on Duty at City Station. The form can be accessed by clicking here
 
Committee Volunteer Form
Please note that the 2013-14 committees will be dissolved at the Annual General Meeting on Monday, April 22nd. New committees will be formed in May.  Committee volunteers can fill out a form by clicking 
here, and return it to Julie Thompson, Executive Assistant, at executive@rcyc.ca. The Committee Volunteer form can also be found on the website.
 
Cruising Sailors' Squadron
Please submit photographs (limit of 5) and logs for consideration for the CSS Photograph Award and The RCYC Cruising Cup.

Lake Ontario Racing Council (LORC) Surveys
LORC, an organization of 15 Yacht Clubs located in the Western end of Lake Ontario, promotes competitive keelboat sailing in the GTA. LORC asks all racers to complete one of two surveys below, so that race organizers can provide better racing.

Annual Heritage Dinner - Saturday, April 20, 2013, 6:00 pm
Franklin’s Lost Expedition: The Search for Erebus and Terror.
Parks Canada’s Underwater Archaeology Service explores the Arctic in search of Franklin’s lost vessels. The diving team presents their discoveries while you enjoy Chef Jonathan’s ‘Arctic’ dinner with wine.

Annual General Meeting - Monday, April 22, 2013
The Annual General Meeting on Monday, April 22nd will be held in the Badminton Courts of the City Clubhouse at 6:30 pm, with registration beginning at 5:30 pm. The meeting will be followed by a roast beef dinner in the City Clubhouse Dining Room.

Youth Dance - Friday April 26th, 2013
6:30 pm-9:30 pm.

Roaring 20s: Setting the Course - Thursday. May 2, 2013

Dinner & Wine: $30.00, tax included.
The Ambassadors have joined forces with the Roaring 20s to socialize and give career tips to help the unemployed and under employed find meaningful work through networking.

Fleet Captain's Race - Saturday, May 11, 2013
The Fleet Captain's Race around the Island is great fun - you choose which direction to go!  Gary Benner 
and Alex Libby have organized a great on-shore program, with a special Chef Jonathan lunch, vendor displays, and prizes.  See the newly dedicated Fleet Captain's Cup.   Power Squadron welcome to circle the island with the sailors.

Summer Camps - Monday to Friday, June 24 to August 30
City Tiny Tots: 18 Months to 2 Years.
9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Camp activities include arts and interactive play, all in our beautiful Childcare.
 
Island Mini-Adventures: 3 to 4 Years
8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Campers will enjoy an action-packed day of swimming, group games, non competitive sports, field trips, tennis and arts & crafts.
 
  
Island Variety Camp: 5 to 8 Years
8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Spirit and fun are combined with teamwork and creativity for an exciting camp experience. Children participate in a variety of sports, group games, swimming, arts, tennis and field trips.

CPR & Emergency First Aid for Members
