Congratulations to David Wright who was just awarded Canadain Male Athlete of the year for 2009. David, culminated a terrific season with a sixth place in the laser world championships as well as many top 5 finishes in the International regatta scene.

And we cannot forget Lee parkhill winning CYA rookie of the year. This award is given to the 1st year Canadian Sailing Team member who has the best finish at their World Championships. Lee place an incredible 16th overall in the laser worlds. This is the best finish for a relative newcomer to the laser class in any country for many years.
The future looks bright indeed for not only these two sailors but the many others who trained and pushed these two to their results
