As said in previous posts, the Canada’s Cup team has been training hard over the past months, and the countdown is on. With only a few more opportunities to have the A and B teams out practicing, here is some input from the ‘village’ team members who won’t be on Defiant on September 2nd.

As the Canada’s Cup draws closer and the countdown is on to September 2nd, the team is working hard, with regular training mid-week and every weekend.

This past weekend the team had three-days of intense coaching from a top US Match Racer, Chris Poole–leader of Riptide Racing, a team on the world's match racing circuit. Chris ranks top 12 in the world so had an abundance of experience and knowledge that he shared with the team. Chris lives in Westport, CI and made the trip north of the border, thankfully without difficulty, and headed straight to RCYC. His impressive accomplishments and awards further to coming in 5th in the 2020 Bermuda Gold Cup Match Race can be found here.
